privacy
group gift tracker is built to hold as little as possible, and to keep what it does hold private to the people you invite to contribute.
what i collect
the gift details you enter as a host — recipient name, a description, a target amount and currency, a contribution deadline, an event date, host name, free-text payment instructions (like a Venmo handle you type in yourself), and notes.
pledges — a contributor's name, the amount they're pledging, an optional note, and a payment status (pledged, paid, or cancelled) the host updates manually.
what i use it for
showing the host and contributors how much has been pledged toward the target, and who still needs to pay.
what i'll never do
collect payment credentials of any kind — no card numbers, bank details, or account passwords. this app never processes money; it only tracks who said they'd contribute. i also won't sell your data, run ads against it, or share it with anyone outside the gift.
where your data lives
in a private, access-controlled postgres database. there's no public listing — each gift's admin and pledge pages use a separate, long, unguessable link, so access is controlled by having that link, not an account check.
if you open a gift from homebase, your homebase account email is shown in that session's page header only — group gift tracker doesn't store it.
your data, your call
remove a pledge or mark a gift settled any time from the admin page. email me if you want something gone for good.
